placement of "has passed"

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the sentences below.

(1) John was severely injured. The doctor said, "Fortunately, he passed his critical condition. He is now okay."

(2) John was severely injured. The doctor said, "Fortunately, his critical condition passed. He is now okay."

What is the correct placement of "has passed"? Thank you for your help.

Difficult to use naturally in this context.

--> Fortunately he is no longer in a critical condition.
