correct tense of "eat" in [eating a lot][eat a lot]

Post by ansonman »

I have made up the sentences below.

(1) Jack is eating a lot of the spaghetti you make every day, which makes his stomach sick.

(2) Jack eats a lot of the spaghetti you make every day, which makes his stomach sick.

Which tense of "eat" is correct? My non-native friends think neither is correct. Please help me. Thank you.
