I have made up the example below.
(1) I said to John, "John, while you take the job search workshop next week, you will learn a lot of strategies to help you get a job."
Most of my non-native friends think "will" is wrong because "while" talks about two events or processes that are happening at the same time. So "will learn" is wrong. My other friends think "will" is correct because you will do the learning when the workshop takes place at a future time.
I am not sure who is correct. Please help me. Thank you.
