21 Dead in Kenya Hotel Attack

At least 21 people are confirmed dead after a attack at a luxury hotel in Nairobi, Kenya this week. The attack began with a car bomb in the parking lot followed by a bomber in the lobby. The complex then filled with gunfire and civilians spent hours hiding in offices and bathrooms until security forces came to their rescue. The operation continued for 19 hours and resulted in the evacuation of about 700 people. A Somalia-based terrorist group named al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack and cited President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the of Israel as the cause.
