  Hi! thank you for your news. After hearing and reading this news, I remember that was a false alarm at my friend’s house last week. I and some friends had a party at my friend’s house. We put an electric hot pot in the small dining room. So its steam flew up to the ceiling. It made a fire alarm to the fire office. We can not turn it off unless firers come to our place. It was about ten minutes, a fire truck came, some fighter fire went to the dining room and they just put off the alarm. We have to pay them $1.000 for that wrong. Honestly, We are oversea students in Australia, we did not know the automatic fire alarm in almost houses in Australia. It was a valuable lesson to remember. Sometimes hijacking an alert or fire alarm makes drawbacks to us if we do not understand its system or are careless in our activities. thank you for your reading.

  Hi Tara,

  First, thank you for this week’s audio news.

  Second, I could understand the subject without seeing the text, but it was a bit difficult more than the last week and could not understand some words.

  Third, I could not also answer the question one of the comprehension, but could fill in the blanks all words except the word closure.

  Fourth, these days everyone is afraiding of hijacking and other terrorist attacks because it looks like our world doesn’t like peace, love and kindness.

  So, maybe, because of the above reason the pilot had used the alarm mistakely.

  I wish our world peace, love, joy, kindness and everything that all humans deserve them.

  I have all monolingual students with low comprehension levels. I love the idea of reading, listening, and writing, but they would be lost as the text Lexile level is too mature for them. Do you by any chance have lower levels texts that I can share with them? I would greatly appreciate your help!
