Writing Prompt ~ Definite And Indefinite Articles

Writing Prompt: The tiny words “a”, “an”, and “the” are called articles. “A” and “an” are indefinite articles used with things in general, while “the” is a definite article used with specific things. Review how these words are placed before singular, countable nouns, and read the English story about a man and woman on Oxford Street. Then rewrite the story with different characters and a different scenario. Be sure to use a number of examples of definite and indefinite articles in your short story.

Example

A boy and a girl were walking home from school. The boy saw a dog in a window of a house. He asked the girl if she thought he could make the dog bark. He said: “Do you think the dog will bark if I make a funny face?” The girl responded: “You don’t have to make a funny face. The face you have is already funny enough.” The boy shouted: “It is not!” The dog barked.
