A word, phrase, or sequence of numbers or that reads the same forwards and backwards is a palindrome. The term palindrome comes from the Greek words palin dromo, “to read backwards”. Race car is an example of a palindrome. Other English palindromes are “refer”, “level” and “kayak”. Some names are palindromes, including Hannah and Bob. Palindromes can be one word or a set of words. The most palindrome is a quote by Napoleon: “Able was I ere, I saw Elba”. and capitalization are not taken into account when determining if a sentence is palindromic or not. Palindromic are sometimes called symmetrical numbers.
