Allspice is a Single Spice

Some people think allspice is a blend of many spices. This is not true. Allspice is a spice made from the unripe fruit (also called the Jamaican pepper) of a pimento tree. The pimento tree grows in and on the Caribbean islands. To make allspice, the berries are collected and dried until they look like peppercorns. The corns contain a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that provide many health benefits. After being , allspice is used in Caribbean cuisine. Allspice is what gives jerk chicken its flavour.
